Vintage Cookbooks - Old Fashioned Recipes Save Money!

I like to use and read vintage cookbooks with recipes that do not use expensive unhealthy processed foods. These types of cookbooks actually teach how to make original healthier versions of recipes that have not been adulterated by processed foods.

Most of these books were written at a time of high inflation, high unemployment and when every morsel counted towards feeding a family. Wasting food was uncommon and was considered to be a shameful act.

Well read, many times over.

I made my own cookbook binders filled with recipes that were shared by our family
and friends, recipes that I have created, recipes that I found online or that I found in
borrowed cookbooks from the library.

I own several cookbooks, and most are stowed away but these cookbooks and my cookbook binders are my go-to cookbooks. They have served me well throughout the years. Most of the recipes are not only delicious but also frugal and healthy.

I enjoy reading cookbooks that have tips and tricks. Carla Emory's cookbooks have a great deal of humor too. There is just something about reading about the lives of others that inspires me.

Mrs. Smith Quote: We don't have to re-invent the wheel; we just have to tweak it a bit to fit our needs.

Shalom,
Mrs. Smith
