Shhh !!!

                                     Our Guests arrived this morning at 6:30 am after driving all night long. After a big breakfast of Calico Potatoes and Smoked Spam, requested by the youngest Master Hamsnthal, they are catching up on some much needed sleep. You can find the recipe for Calico Potatoes under Potatoes in the Label section of my blog.  Praise God for a safe uneventful trip!

                                      I'm not sure how much posting I will get done for the next seven days, but I will do my best. I appreciate your patience. While I was cooking we had around fifteen hot air balloons flying around. I did not get any pictures because I was preparing breakfast and didn't think to snap some shots. Sorry! Maybe they will be out tomorrow too. All the small local towns are having their Summer festivals right now. I hope to go to one or two. I love the local crafts and people watching at these events.

Blessings,
Tina

Two Are Better Than One...

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

New International Version (NIV)

9 Two are better than one,
    because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
    one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
    and has no one to help them up.

A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths;
feels your fears but fortifies your faith;
sees your anxieties but frees your spirit;
recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.

Company's Coming !!!!!

We are so blessed by God with true friends. The Hamsnthal's are coming for a visit, not just mom and dad, but their boys too. We have shared the joys of having children vicariously through our friends and I must say that WE  (Ha Ha ) have raised some fine young men. This will be their (boys) first trip here and we are looking forward to sharing this part of our life with them.

We added two chairs and a leaf to our dinning table to accommodate
our guests. Sharing meals together is a great pleasure for me, since
I love to cook and it's a time to for all of us to share our hopes
and dreams...

Over the years, we have taken many vacations together and have literally traveled through a hurricane together. What a blast ! We have become an intricate part of each other's lives for many years and many more to come. I pray for safe travels and adventures for all...

Nothing New Under The Sun...

We are still working around the house. We hauled a load of trash off to the dump yesterday. We still have to finish the coop. We picked up the last of the supplies for it a couple of days ago. So far, we have only purchased screws, wire and a couple of pieces of re bar from retail stores. Everything else has been purchased from Re-Store (Habitat for Humanity). It is possible to make an affordable coop and yard. I will share  "how too" as soon as we complete everything.

We have been hiking every other day for the last two weeks and have logged over fifteen miles on just three of the hikes. This may not sound like much, but at 9,000 feet in the Rockies it's pretty good. Today, we will hike a new trail at a nearby state park. I need to make up our lunches and get our packs in order before we head out for a new adventure. God has provided an amazing place for all of us to live and play. Thank you, Father...
