We Ran Out Of Power...

In Case Of Emergency, Use As Many As Needed...

We have had many many cloudy days for several weeks now. We are grateful for the cloudy days and the rain that we have been blessed with, because it has been hot. It was 90* at 11:30 this morning. We have never experienced heat like this so early in the day. It hit 94* then clouded up and cooled off. In fact, I don't think that we have ever seen a 94* day here.

It's was pretty late and I was about to call it a night when our low battery alarm sounded warning us that we were low on power. I could have just gone to bed, but we needed to be able to run the fan to sleep comfortably, so I turned on the gen.

With the clouds blocking the sun, the heat causing our appliances to run longer and harder than normal and  having to run fans non-stop we have been using more power and producing less. We do not have nor have we ever needed air conditioning at this altitude. No one has air conditioning here. I'm not sure if this is happening all over the world, but it is getting hotter here every year.

Even though it is now 59* outside it is still too warm in the house. I have the windows open and it will eventually cool down, but the fan is still needed. We have actually been using two fans all day when we usually only use one fan at night.

It is supposed to be 20* cooler tomorrow. We will have to wait and see what happens. I need to bake bread at some point. Maybe I will bake cornbread in the Sun Oven or biscuits on the grill. This would keep the house from heating up. An outdoor kitchen would really come in handy right now.

Well, It is time to turn off the gen and go to sleep. At least I got a few things accomplished like this post...

Goodnight,

Mrs. Smith
