Buck Moon - Largest Super Moon Of The Year - Tonight...

The "Buck Super Moon" marks the third super moon in a row. It is also the largest super moon of 2022. It is well worth looking up at the skyline this evening as it rises. It will appear six times larger than a normal full moon and will be 16% brighter.

Please do not look at the super moon through binoculars or a telescope without a proper filter. I made this mistake before with my telescope. I saw a moon spot all night long with my eyes opened or closed. I was going to go to the eye doctor the next morning if it did not get better. I was scared for my eyesight.

We are very fortunate to live in a dark sky area. It is as if I can reach out and touch the stars. They seem so close at this altitude. The meteor showers are incredible too. I watch the sky day and night. I always have even as a child. I have a really cool star and planet wheel. I can name a few, but what I'm truly in awe of is God's creation.

Enjoy,

Mrs. Smith
