About 25 mile down the road, we started seeing cars covered in hail. We had just missed an epic hailstorm. We ended up stuck in a massive traffic jam that extended out in both directions about 5 miles. I felt sorry for the motorcyclists that were trying to get out of the hail spay from passing motorists.
They usually have the plows out, but there was so much traffic at a standstill that it would have been impossible for them to clear the roads. It melted pretty fast, and traffic continued to be heavy. Everyone was on their way somewhere for the weekend. In the summer, traffic is heavy with tourists and weekend warriors heading to camp.
Traffic is light this year due to the economy and inflation. There are no extra funds available for most families struggling to make ends meet. I hope that everyone can enjoy each other wherever they are and despite the tough times.
Shabbat Shalom,
Mrs. Smith
