Gas Prices - Debt- Super Inflation

When I snapped this picture, I was not happy with what I was seeing. Prices continue to soar every day. Inflation data does not match what we are seeing on the ground. Who do they think they are fooling? It continues to get worse and worse.

Other countries are in worse shape than the US because they do not have free flowing credit cards, but for how long? When the 20 % credit cards max out, what happens next? The bottle can only be kicked down the road for so long. There will be a day of reckoning.

As the situation continues to worsen, more and more people will lose everything. As history has taught us in the past that this cannot be sustained. It wasn't too many years ago when millions of Americans lost their jobs and homes due to the greed of our financial system, the belief in an over stimulated housing market and economy. Does this sound familiar?

We are seeing and feeling the pain of these situations in our everyday lives, in our businesses and in the unexpected circumstances that we find ourselves in now, along with most of the world. I just want to be an encouragement to everyone to hold on to faith, family and friends. Reach out to loved ones and let them know that they are not alone. We are all in this thing called life together. In the good times and the bad times, we are not alone.

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Egg Prices and Shortages at Wal-Mart - Rising Gas Prices...

I hurriedly took pictures of the eggs available at Wal-Mart. They did not have 12-count eggs, only 18-count eggs. They apparently ran out of those too, because people were breaking apart the two 18-count packages and getting charged the same amount. The store put up a sign warning customer not to do it.

The extra-large eggs were the cheapest at $8.08 for an 18-count.

Sorry for the blurry pictures. This is the sign warning the customer of the costs.

This was the extent of the egg section. I just needed milk, lettuce and mini-sweet peppers. I also bought fig bars for a treat. The Great Value brand is the best tasting brand in my opinion. They are also less expensive than the other brands, but good grief they were still outrageously expensive.

Gas is back up! We got it for $3.74 a gallon for the lowest grade. They were under construction, so they have kept their prices a few cents lower. Usually, they are the highest in town. It's well over $4 a gallon for the higher grades. It is supposed to go up even higher. I'm not sure how the US is ever going to recover from this super-inflation if everything keeps going up on the consumer level. Don't believe the lies that they are spewing about the economy. We are the ones with our boots on the ground living it out while they keep trying to convince us otherwise. Our gas bill for this trip was $85.

Gas Prices - Look What We Found It For Today!!!

We had to go to the big city today. With our trusty list in hand and our travel essentials like water and hats we headed out. We had to return to the house two times, because we forgot something and then we forgot to put some things back in the car that we took out when Number One went to the dump last Sunday.

Since we run all of our errands in one trip Number One also put the gas cans for the genny in the car. I am really grateful that he did. We passed this station and really didn't trust the price of gas that we saw, so we called when we got to the first town. We usually can get fuel for a lot less in town or in the city, but not this time. We saved almost $1 a gallon. It was still $108 to fill everything up. Last time it was $162.75. That is a huge difference.

It took a long time to get fuel. People were everywhere in every direction trying to fill up. Even the most expensive store for gas on the way to the city was way cheaper than the city price, but not as cheap where we filled up. I feel like we had a big win on fuel today. Groceries were a different story.

We did not do our regularly scheduled shopping trip. That happens next month sometime, but we did pick up some items that we knew were going up in price. At some point I am going to have to adjust our budget. It was a big shock how little we bought for the money we spent.

The store seemed bigger. I think it was because they did not have as much inventory, so they widened the isles to disguise their inventory issues. We had to actually go into a regular grocery store to purchase basic goods that were not available this time nor the last time we were there. Pasta was up 25%. It was also neatly disguised in a buy 4 for $5 scheme. Flour was up over $1 a bag. Every time we go most items are up an additional 15% to 50%. Ramen was up from $6.77 to $13.98. That is a huge increase. They had limited cooking oil. They did not have the type of cooking oil we use.

I do not see how these price increases can continue. Who will be able to pay such prices? I have some future posts coming out soon with tried and true Depression era recipes that I hope will ease our suffering wallets.

Stay safe and be blessed,

Mrs. Smith
