Picture of the Day - Extreme Weather

I tried to take pictures of the wolf moon and mars through the very iced over kitchen window. I will try again tonight for the full moon. It was so big and beautiful last night that I thought it was actually full.

It was - 18 degrees last night. It should be like - 35 degrees this time of the year. Crazy weather. I think we have snow moving in next week and colder temperatures this week. We will see what actually transpires.

If you look closely, you can see the mountains and the
reflection of the inside of the house.

The moon is shining like a flashlight through the window.

Picture of the Day - Uninvited Guests

This is what happens when you leave the gate open...

Three cows snuck in last night before we closed the gate. All three of them are black, so Number One Husband didn't see them when he closed the gate. We tried to get them out this morning, but they did not want to leave because our grass has not been cut or grazed for years. We gave up trying pretty fast because it was 14 degrees outside.

Two of them are not scared of us at all, but the third one is skittish. This one enjoys hanging out next to our porch. They slept outside the gate to take shelter from the wind and blowing snow the night before last. They will probably leave in the morning. It won't take them long to graze our fenced area.

She looks like she is standing on the grill.

This is Rabbit who is standing on the grill.

The sun has set, and the temperature has dropped. It is going to be a cold this New Years Eve. It's only 3 degrees at the moment. It was - 3 degrees when I got up this morning. I think it will drop well below that overnight.

I baked Grandma Ruby's apple bread this evening. You can find the recipe here: Grandma Ruby's Apple Bread . The house is nice and warm now. I also cooked a big pot of rice in the pressure cooker and de-boned a rotisserie chicken. I want to make chicken and dumplings out of the leftover meat and bones. It's been a nice and quiet New Years Evening. We are looking forward to tomorrow

Happy New Year,

Watering Hole - Picture of the Day - 31Days of Living Well and Spending Zero

I was able to visit the buffalo today with Number One Husband. I am always amazed by these creatures. They seem to be very curious about us too. They are wild animals, so we take safety very serious and do not take any chances.

Can you spot the calf?

Calf # 2

Where's the calf?

Yearling

Another calf - half

There are three calves so far.

Day 15...

We are days and days behind on the challenge. We are continuing to move forward, but the days no longer coincide with the challenge due to injuries. We have jumped around cleaning and organizing as we are able. We have actually completed over 31 days of no spend on the 12th, so technically I didn't blow it. Our goal is to go to August 1st, so I hope to be able to complete the daily goals by then and complete this challenge.
