Why Busy Mornings Are Not My Favorite...

In the mornings when I rise I prefer to have my hot tea with a little honey and my study time all by myself. It's not that I prefer to be alone all the time, it's just that I prefer to be focused without interruptions while gathering my thoughts and starting my day with God.

I will choose this...

over this, every time. This was one of those mornings where I hit the ground running. My robe got stuck in the tape dispenser, the tape was stuck to the package and I tore my pocket. Number One helped me escape.

This time alone really helps me to meet the needs of others with a joyful heart. To be painfully honest, if I don't have this time alone to study then my "Happy" gets easily bumped after a day or two. I need to be refreshed every morning with the Word. For me, it's a bit like being hangry.

It's not like I can't function, but I function better as a joyful woman if I stay in His Word and practice His presence daily. When the world comes at me non-stop I need the strength to cope and being in the Word of God is where my strength, peace and joy come from. So, I make it a point to make it happen every morning if possible. Sometimes, I do have to do it later in the day or at night when the house is quiet.

After feeding my spirit I am ready to feed my family.

This is why busy mornings are not my favorite, because I am ill prepared for the day and sometimes ill tempered without the Word of God...
