What In the World is Going On? Has The World Gone Mad?

The whole world seems to be delving deeper and deeper into madness. I haven't had a lot to blog about lately. I haven't been very motivated, and I have been wondering why. I realized that the events happening all around us has made me concerned and sad at the same time. However, I have found the cure! A grateful heart...

God's Big Screen

Number One Husband

Two are better than one, in that their cooperative efforts yield this advantage: if one of them falls, the other will help his partner up — woe to him who is alone when he falls and has no one to help him up. Again, if two people sleep together, they keep each other warm; but how can one person be warm by himself? ...   Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Winter adventures

Good friends

Great memories

Perfect timing

One can devise many plans in one’s mind,
but Adonai’s plan will prevail.  Proverbs 19:21

These are just a few of the things that I am grateful for...

In conclusion, brothers, focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, lovable or admirable, on some virtue or on something praiseworthy. Philippians 4:8

Creating A Prayer Bible - Praying Scriptures

I am in the process of creating my Prayer Bible. It is a work in progress as I study the Word. I started with homemade labels made from transparent writable removable sticky notes, but I soon determined that I needed a lot more space and more colors than I had, so purchased 1- and 2-inch removable writable translucent labels in different colors. Boy, that was a mouthful...

A simple keyword search on BibleGateway for different topics in the Bible, will give you a treasure trove of Scriptures to work with. For instance, if you do a keyword search on repentance, you will receive 26 results or Scriptures that you can read, pray, study and use in your Prayer Bible.

I made the inside cover of my Bible my index page(s) by using the color-coded labels to create the index. I can expand the index as I add prayer topics.

Some of my labels were too small to write a heading on, so I created the index by color coding the topics.

Some Scriptures cover several topics, so I write the name of the topic next to the Scriptures. I also highlight or underline the Scriptures as I go.

Praying Scripture is powerful in so many ways. It is hard to put it into words. It is not just reading the words. It is much more.

Here are some of the tools I use to create my Prayer Bible. I mostly used what I had on hand to start with including the Bible. I only added labels out of necessity. They are pretty inexpensive if purchased online from Amazon.

I know for a fact that there are way more impressive and creative ways to create a Prayer Bible. My talents do not lie in these areas. Let's face it, if you mess up with ink, it is messed up, so for that reason alone I did not focus on what others can create, but on what I can create with my God given abilities. There are way too many comparisons being made and self-criticizing talks going on in our heads. These thoughts can stop us in our tracks too fearful to try and too paralyzed to succeed.

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

Storm Clouds On The Horizon...

The whole world is in a peculiar place right now. Everything is so unstable. Just when I think things can't get any worse, I am proven wrong.

We are not helpless though. We have a Promise-Keeping God that we can come before and share our struggles with.

Psalm 33:18-22

18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.

21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

It All Belongs To God...

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
 — Psalm 24:1

A dear friend of mine was the person that taught me this truth. She used to say this about her home and all that was in it that she was forced to share during an economic
downturn.

She and her husband had to rent their home to vacationers and stay in a motel, with us or in a small dry cabin close to the property while others enjoyed their home and everything that was inside. And their home was fine, and all their belongings were fine. They were able to see this truth and share their blessings with others.

God blessed them and they were able to overcome their financial hardships and move closer to their grandchildren into a paid for home.

In Jewish culture, it is not unusual to find this verse written in books. This verse reminds us that everything we have is just on loan from God and that we should share with others as God has so faithfully shared with us.

Just imagine if we also applied this truth to relationships, we would cherish the relationship even more than we do. It would draw us closer and keep us grateful for the loved ones in our lives. How much different would everything look if we applied this truth to everything we possess and love?

What is written on your possessions?

"Fighting Words" Round 3 Memory Verse...

Psalm 139:7-10 CJB

Where can I go to escape your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I climb up to heaven, you are there;
if I lie down in Sh’ol, you are there.
If I fly away with the wings of the dawn
and land beyond the sea,
10 even there your hand would lead me,
your right hand would hold me fast.

I thought that this Scripture passage was just so beautiful and so true. I hope that it blesses you today as much as it has blessed me...
