"Blessing" Challenge
2 Corinthians 1:2
Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
This is a beautiful greeting, isn't it? Imagine a world where people greet each other with a blessing. This world can be a rough place. You rarely get a decent greeting from the clerk in the checkout line. People pass each other every day with just a glance. There is no acknowledgement, no greeting and certainly not a blessing.
This brings me to my challenge. I challenge everyone to greet every person that God puts in your pathway. Start with "Hello" then build up to a "Blessing" as time goes by. You may become the blessing in some one's life or they may be your blessing.
God the Father wants us to love Him and love our neighbors as ourselves. These are the two greatest commandments. Imagine a world where this was the norm.....
Matthew 22: 36-40
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
So, while you are out and about shopping, working or just living life, do not pass anyone by. Bless them with a greeting. See where the conversation takes you. It may just be a greeting or you may meet a life long friend.
