These Apple Pie Bars are irresistible. They make a great breakfast or snack. Serve warm with ice cream for a delicious, but simple desert. You won't be disappointed!
Apple Pie Breakfast Bars
Ingredients: Topping and Crust
2 3/4 C Old Fashioned Oats
1 1/4 C All-Purpose flour
3/4 C Brown Sugar
1/2 C Sugar
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Tsp Salt
2 Sticks Cold Butter, cut into small pieces
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until butter is incorporated and the mixture resembles a crumb topping. Set two cups aside for the crumb topping. Press the rest of the crumb mixture into a 9x13 pan. Bake in a 350-degree preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Ingredients: Apple Pie Filling
4 Apples, peeled, cored, sliced thin and quartered.
1/4 C All-Purpose Flour
1/4 C Sugar
1 Tsp Allspice
1/4 C Maple Syrup (Pancake syrup can be used in a pinch)
Mix filling ingredients until well combined. Spead evenly onto the pre-baked crust. Sprinkle reserved topping on top of the apples. Bake in the 350-degree oven until the apples are tender. 25-30 minutes. Let cool 1 hour before cutting into bars. Store in a covered dish.
