My mom sent us a gift box for our anniversary. We picked it up today. Inside was a treasure trove of very thoughtful gifts. One of my favorite things was this tea mug with a Scripture verse on it. The story behind this cup was when she first found it and thought of me, the checker at the store dropped it and shattered the mug. It was the only one. Months and months passed by when she was back at the same store, she took a shortcut down some random isle that she normally would not go down and saw the same mug out of place. When she checked out, she would not let the checker handle the mug at all. Not even to scan it. She carefully wrapped the mug in a paper bag and held onto it until she could put it in a secure place in her home.
And walk in love, just as Messiah also loved us[a] and gave Himself up for us as an offering and sacrifice to God for a fragrant aroma.
Ephesians 5:2
Number One Husband also received several gifts including his favorite toothpaste that we can longer find here. Toothpaste, you say. Think about how thoughtful this gift is. First, she tuned into the fact that it was his favorite toothpaste, but longer available. She kept an eye out for it for a year or more and then when she found it, she bought out the store and shipped it to him. Very thoughtful!
There were other thoughtful gifts packed into this box, but the greatest gift was the love she put into each and every item...
We love you too, Momma.!
Mrs. Smith
