We had to go into town to pick up some milk that we have been waiting to come back in at the store for a week or so. It actually came in on Friday, but they could not get it off the pallet before the store closed. We had them put back three bottles for us in the cooler until we could get there.
We also picked up the last bottle on the shelf, plus the three bottles that they put back for us. I needed the extra bottle to make yogurt. So, they literally are out again after 24 hours. We will see if they can order a case for us (6 bottles) every month. We called several stores in a 50-mile radius, but they were all out too. It was supposed to come in on Wednesday's truck. We usually avoid traveling on the weekends, especially holiday weekends, to avoid all the traffic and crazy drivers. It wasn't too bad. It looked like everyone was leaving the mountains to go home a day early.
Excuse my dusty car. We have had the seats down for months. This is what I discovered when I lifted the back seats up. We are Dirt Roadians... |
We drove by the state park to see how many campers came in overnight and the park was not even 3/4 of the way full. Campers are usually desperate to find spaces to camp on Memorial weekend. Day hikers can't even find parking spots, but not this year. Last year the park rangers were turning people away. This year is different. I don't know what is causing the decline, maybe gas and food prices. This is a great way to measure the economy. We paid $3.29 a gallon for gas. Crazy!
We only saw one boat on the water. |
The wild burros have come back around after giving birth. We snapped these photos on our way to the lake. We had sliced apples, cheese, crackers and Wildbrine Salsa Verde in the car with us. It was nearly 4 Pm and we hadn't eaten anything all day. They loved the saltines and sliced apples. I imagine they will be visiting the ranch in a day or two.

Stay safe!
