I had a new thick Lazer thermal fleece hoodie that was damaged in several spots, and I just hated to throw it away, so I made a few things out of it.
First, I cut the sleeves off and made a hot water bottle cover. Second, I made a hooded dickie out of the hood and shoulders. I'm thinking about sewing it onto my robe or using it when the coat that I am wearing doesn't have a hood.
I have used the hot water bottle cover every day since I made it. It has lint on it. The cover has two layers and retains heat for about 8 hours. |
Thirdly, I made a foot cozy out of the body for Number One Husband. He remarked several times that his feet were cold (from not wearing socks in the winter), so I thought "I can fix that." The kangaroo pocket holds a hot water bottle.
Just slip your feet inside. It can be used laying down or sitting in a chair. |
And the last item that I made was a re-usable duster for my Swifter duster handle. I made this out of the cuffs.
As you can see, I have been using it. I can just throw it into the washing machine and its ready to use again. |
