Super Inflation - "Something's Gotta Give"...

The dog food alone was up $15 to $43.78.

We went to the city yesterday to buy the groceries that we can't get shipped. This is crazy! We spent a lot of money and we did not get very much. Unfortunately, the quality on some of the fresh items was sub-par to say the least.

There were many missing items that I had to substitute with other brands or that I just couldn't find and some items that I didn't purchase that we could just do without due to the sheer expense of the total grocery bill.

The really bad thing is that we still have to purchase our dry goods and have them shipped. I'm not sure what the cost will be, since I was focused on fresh and frozen foods. As you can see, the dog food was a large chunk of our bill. The most expensive item.

My understanding is that prices are going to increase even more this month and into 2023 as they start processing the new crops. Crop failures, crop shortages and costs related to farming and ranching are going to affect the prices as we go forward. With the increases in energy and most everything else...

"Something's Gotta Give".

I saved $2.40, but it's up $4

They were out of my normal brand to which they have raised the price by $3 and reduced the quantity by half. I substituted with this product instead.

$2 price increase.

They doubled the price of my normal tortillas, so I substituted with this more expensive product which hasn't gone up in price yet.

Again, they doubled the price of my normal tortillas, so I substituted with this more expensive product which hasn't gone up in price yet.

They only had cases of fries for $27 or these really expensive waffle fries. Number One asked for fries, so I bought the expensive ones. I didn't have room in the freezer for a case of fries. They did not have any other types of frozen potatoes either.

Another request from Number One. We do not normally purchase these or fries.

I think this is up $5, but I don't know when the increase happened.

This is also up by $2.

This was my treat that I decided on. The sticker price was $11.98, but rung up $13.98. I did not catch it while I was at the store, so it's a $2 increase, plus a false advertisement.

We used to buy these by the case, but they do not offer cases anymore. They are expensive this way, but I have no way to figure the price increase fairly.

Up by 4$

Up by 4$

Up by $5

Up by $1

Up by $1.20

Turkey has seen an increase of 50% across the board.

Up by $2.65 a pound

Oh, this one really makes me mad. Up by who knows? The quality and size are so bad.

There is a save $2 on this one, but it was not advertised in the store. This means that they are probable about to go up in price again. This one was actually down by 35 cents a pound, plus a $2 savings.

This is the best deal on chicken. It weighed 3 pounds and I didn't have to cook it.

I think that this is up, but I don't normally buy it. They did not have any lettuce available and they had limit signs up.

I dug through a couple boxes to find normal sized carrots to no avail. These are not good quality carrots. Many are so skinny that I won't be able to peel about half of each carrot. This also means that they will go bad faster too. I think that this and the lettuce problems are due to the drought conditions sweeping a great deal of the US.

Onions are expensive everywhere. Compared to the 3 pounds for a $1 that I used to by them for when they were in season, this is a sad state of affairs...

See picture above.
