After a day of baking, I sat down to watch a lovely couple, Calvin and Marie, on YouTube. Southern Country Living They inspired me to whip up this hot soup using the recipe they shared on their vlog post. I enjoy watching these two prepare food and share their southern lifestyle.
Here is where you can find the recipe and the instructional video on YouTube: Cajun-Spiced Black-eyed Peas and Cabbage Soup Check out their vlog and give them a thumbs up.
I made this large pot of soup to help keep us warm and fed during the polar vortex that we are experiencing. I did have to change it up a bit. I used dried black-eyed peas and beef sausage instead of canned black-eyed peas and andouille sausage. I also cooked my soup on top of the stove instead of using a crockpot.
The recipes that they share on their channel are basic and simple to make and I find it easy to adjust the ingredients in order to use what I have in my pantry. They even share other ingredient options that can be used in their recipes.
Calvin and Marie are a great team and are enjoyable to watch. I have made several recipes from their channel. I hope that you will check them out.
